Golf club ends 113-year sock rule
ゴルフクラブが１１３年続く靴下のルールを終わりにした

Men have been given permission to show off their legs at an Essex golf club for the first time in 113 years.
「エッセクス・ゴルフクラブでは、１１３年の歴史で初めて、男性がハイソックスを履かずにプレーすることが許可された。」

But now committee members have relaxed the rule and men can wear short socks - a move that officials said has divided the club's 600 members.
「今や委員会のメンバーはルールを緩和し、男性は短い靴下を履くことができる。この動きは６００人いるクラブのメンバーの中でも賛否の分かれるところのようだ。」

The club, founded in 1895, still insists that men's shirts must have collars and shorts must be tailored.
